Depends on the satellite signal, if it drops out then they wont get internet or use of phone... Sometimes they work so hard as well, that all they want to do is shower, eat and bed... Im sure you'll hear from him soon...Do most oil rigs in Australia supply internet for all workers?
Nowadays, all oil rigs are equipped with fast broadband connections - workers have free access to net in their off-hours, of course.
