Domestic Oil Supply, Obama vs McCain Which one to Chose on that?

McCain wants to drill in Artic, and offshore, Obama doesnt. Seems Michigan would go for McCain because with out cheaper gas Michigan the Auto Insustry is a dead one.

Why arent these states In the Auto Belt Like Mich. Ohio, Indiana and even Pa. backing McCain who for sure with more Domestic oil supply will help the Auto Enconomy of these states?Domestic Oil Supply, Obama vs McCain Which one to Chose on that?
Oil companies have the right to drill in 80% of the federal land and they are not doing it so why should they drill in the artic it seems to me that they want oil prices to stay high who would have thought it.Domestic Oil Supply, Obama vs McCain Which one to Chose on that?
Unfortunately your wrong I worked for a refinery and they can refine this stuff and they are only running at 85% capacity. Also the head of the oil institute said on meet the press Sunday they are drilling in all the places they can because they don't have no more rigs to drill with. Report Abuse

McCain backs giving tax breaks to companies for moving manufacturing jobs off shore. Not a popular option in those states.

Half of the increase in price of Oil these days comes from McCain singing Bomb Bomb Iran to his adoring fans in his warm up act for the Bush/Cheney speeches on how Iran wants to make a nuclear weapon. They went on tour with that show the day after the CIA announced that while they do not know what Iran WANTS or ASPIRES to do, they do know that they are not trying to make a nuclear weapon. What a great and patriotic risk the CIA took for announcing this against the wishes of their president. http://www.truthout.org/article/hersh-ci鈥?/a>

Iran produces about 4% of the worlds supply of oil, and an attack could cut that off.

Supplies are right where they were 14 years ago even with increased world demand. Production has kept up.

About 20% of the price of oil is caused by the devaluation of our currency caused by years of printing money to pay for the war in Iraq.

AS far as drilling in the arctic. You do know that we would have to pay the oil companies to drill there? They are multinational firms now that owe no allegiance to the USA and there are too many more profitable places to drill thant anyplace in the US right now, and the payoff will be faster for all of us.
Obama would bring down gas prices, Mccain would not.

The oil we would drill in the Artic and offshore would not make a difference since we have plenty of oil already supplied to us. The reason gas prices are jacked up is because the oil companies are jacking them up because they feel like it and because they can get away with it. If Obama were president, he would cap their profit margin so that there is no incentive to jack prices up. And even if they still did it to spite him, the government could just take the excess profits and send out a bunch of gas rebate checks.
Because anyone with half of a brain knows that offshore drilling will not only provide any relief at the gas pumps for at least 10 years, if then, but also some more mature people understand that preventing damage to the environment is important and most importantly-the real solution is to find alternative solutions, alternative fuels which would ignite these places with good jobs for good pay and this country would regain its position in the world as a leader not a folower coward to countries with oil. Obama, the ONLY hope for the future. Stop perpetrating lies.
';You'; want to drill for oil in the ';arctic'; (as if you ever drilled for oil anywhere)?

Oil and gas were discovered on the North Slope at Point Thomspon in 1977, and BP, Cheveron, and Exxon haven't drilled a single well there since the exploratory wells (last one in 1982), and those leases are adjacent to ANWR.

So go kick their butts and stop being silly.

Face it. McCain doesn't have a plan that involves drilling. The Government got out of the drilling business long ago. Oil companies drill.

What the Government does is lease our public land for 3 bucks an acre per year to oil companies who do not drill on those leases after they discover oil on them.
Oil is the life blood of the US

no matter who gets in when the time is right and the oil supply dries up abroad..(oil production has peaked) and the supply is greater then we can imagine..it will be off shore drilling..

we are already ';mining'; the oil sands..as this is expensive..but that is how desperate we are for oil...

Baraak or John will both join the drillers as the US won't live without oil ..alternative fuels won't be available for a long time
If McCain or the Republicans REALLY wanted to drill that bad, they could have passed a bill very easily from 2000 to 2006 when they had control of congress. I never heard it come up, did you? It is campaign rhetoric, as usual.
I don't know where you're getting your info but McCain is set to win Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania. It is Michigan that he may not win. You have got the whole scenario flip-flopped.
Obama is paying out his a** to confuse people with his campaigns. At the end of the day, he will flip flop on all of these issues once in office and everyone knows it.
Your concept that the price of gas is the only reason to vote one way or another is so ridiculous that its not worthy of comment.
We best start drilling, current estimates of the oil in the Middle East has it drying up in 42 years.....but this world, as we know it, will be long gone by then.
Because they aren't stupid.
