If Dem or Rep got us out of IRAQ, would the void (or radical forces) disrupt the world oil supply?

They would certainly attempt to. Efforts are already in place to disrupt our ecomomy through oil, and we could end up in a depression from it in combination with the real estate issue we have here.

But that is not the worst part.

Iraq would never have agreed to try a real democracy were it not for the promise of American support and defense.

We promised.

Now if we yank out support, and the newly established government of Iraq is overthrown, people tortured and killed... who are they going to blame? Think we have had terrorist problems in the past? If I was a kid who watched my dad tortured and murdered because America encouraged him to form a system of government the rest of the middle east hates with a fiery passion (a free one) and then abandonned him to be devoured by the wolves... breaking their promise? You know what? I'd want America blown up too. I'd hate it from the bottom of my heart for that level of betrayal.

We betray the people of Iraq, good luck ever getting ANYONE in the middle east to support or believe you in the future. We might as well just fund terrorist groups to attack us.

If Iraq crumbles and hates us, we also lose a foothold right next to a country we need a foothold near. Iran. They are working on nuclear potential. We have had a delicate balance in nuclear arms. One of self preservation. No one wants to be blown to hell, so no one launches. Enter a mentality of 'strap a bomb to me, I'll blow myself up to mortally injure my enemy' and suddenly the balance of sanity and self preservation is tipped. Do YOU want flipping Iran to have nuclear warheads? I sure as F don't. But Americans really love those quick response answers like 'withdraw the troops'. Not only does it make them feel morally superior, it is a fast solution and they don't have to go through all that nasty hard work of actually thinking about the ramifications of such a decision.

The stage is set to have something in place to everyone's advantage... or to put everyone at peril... and no one is really thinking about it. Just looking for a 'your way right away burger king now' insta answer served up in 5 minutes or less.

America? You flipping dumbarses. We really should try using our flipping heads for once.

Sorry your gas costs a few cents more people. We all know how you 'luvs them thar bargains' but believe it or not, there is a slightly larger picture than the price window of your fuel pump. There's a whole big world out there, and it can be a really scary place if you aren't paying attention. If Dem or Rep got us out of IRAQ, would the void (or radical forces) disrupt the world oil supply?
That is the big questions. I would have to say yes because I just don't believe that the Muslims in Iraq will ever be able to get along. Eventually the country will split into 3 and one of the 3 will join Iran.If Dem or Rep got us out of IRAQ, would the void (or radical forces) disrupt the world oil supply?
The U.S.A. wants the area to be peaceful so that it is safe to ship oil . Iraq needs to be able to control its own people, and have good relations with its neighbours. Saddam was anti-religious.
it snt disrupted now?
I truly applaud you Dan Wagner, you hit that nail right on the head! I totally agree with you too! Most people in the US do not think past the next weekend. they have an instant gratification mentality which some of us see as really stupid when you look at the big picture. they are just asking for us to get attacked again if we pull our troops out.
Sweet Jesus...we were paying a $1.30 per gallon for gas before the Iraq debacle that we were lied into. We are currently paying $3.00 plus for gas.

Am I frigging stupid or are we paying more for gas as a result of Bush's...and the Republican Congress's...lies????

All of you supporters of Bush should understand that Bush lied and our soldiers died in a war that never needed to be fought...that is the major tragedy. The secondary tragedy is that people in our country on a budget are spending lots more for gas.

We need to develop alternatives to Mid-East oil...solar, ethanol, hydrogen, etc...and we could do this if we weren't spending the $323 million dollars a day to fight a war that never needed to be fought in Iraq.

Forget the lying right wing radio talk show nuts. Think about the truth.
