Isn't trying to increase oil supply to an oil addicted nation the same thing as?

increasing the supply of crack to a crack addict in the hopes that they will eventually quit?Isn't trying to increase oil supply to an oil addicted nation the same thing as?
I hope you aren't blind to the vast increase in consumption in China, and, to a lesser degree, India.Isn't trying to increase oil supply to an oil addicted nation the same thing as?
Good call. Maybe those that want to drill in our wildlife preserves should offer some concessions. I'll trust big business to extract that oil in an environmentally friendly way when the government starts trusting me to use marijuana recreationally in a responsible way. Legalize it, and I, as well as many other environmentally conscious people, won't care so much where we drill.
I agree with andy. Built more refineries and drill in Alaska and we'll be fine. Sure we'll be spending money but atleast it stays in the U.S. instead of funding terrorist and nuclear programs in the mid east.
Are you referring to China? They'll surpass the U.S. in more ways than one, and soon.

Bad analogy, btw. Crack is in no way a good thing. Are you saying the same about oil?
No, more like increasing the supply of crack because you think the _price_ of crack is doing more harm than the _use_ of crack itself.
not quite the same. crack has no benefits to mankind, whereas oil, well, has tons of uses. (not just fossil fuel.)
What is funny is that people in the United States wants more oil when we don't have enough refineries as it is.
Exactly! Great metaphor.
no but a crack addict might come to your conclusion...
