We get most of our oil from South America, and North America. Europe and Asia get most of their oil (about 75%) from the Middle East. However, by restricting the supply in that way, they would drive up the prices in Europe and Asia to make up the difference, and that would trickle down into the cost of goods produced in Europa and Asia (Including China), since we are operating in a trade deficit (We Import more than we export) it would mean higher prices for those goods that we purchase.


But anyway, Regardless of our Imperialism, the Middle East Oil Producing Countries are capitalists, and regardless of what you read or say about ';Islamic Based Countries'; they all worship the ';All mighty Dollar'; the same as we do.
i'm sure we have ticked them off enough to where they would not want to sell to us if they could sell to the rest of the world, except for those fine democratically elected saudis that would have no chance of staying in power without our support. we would be sucking the sloppy seconds of coal extraction and tar sands

No probably not. but if you think that it is possible then why don't the Democrats get out from under the coat tails of the environmentalist and let us drill in Alaska,off the coast, go after the shell oil in the west and build new refineries then maybe we wouldn't have to worry about the Middle East.

Anyway bright boy ... the Alberta tar pits have more oil than all of Saudi Arabia, and the Jack 2 (Gulf of Mexico) oil well is more easily accessible than a hovel in the middle of nowhere. Add into that contracts for drilling sites all over the world, including Russia and your question is reduced to nothing.

most likely at least if free market economics were applied as the US has always tried to keep oil prices unfairly low, (given the fact that there is a limited supply), so they would be wise to sell what's left and reserve the rest to the highest bidders and not the bidders with the biggest stick anymore.
