If every water bottle or plastic material was recycled, how long would our oil supply last?

If every water bottle or plastic material was recycled, how long would our oil supply last? Do you know any other information regarding recycling, oil, or plastic production? If every water bottle or plastic material was recycled, how long would our oil supply last?
first.. the world oil reserves are currently believed to be about 1.2x10^12 barrels... 1.2 trillion barrels.

second, the world oil consumption is about 85x10^6 barrels per day... that is 85 million barrels per day...

so right now, we about 1.2x10^12 barrels x (1 day / 85x10^6 barrels) = 14,100 days of oil in known reserves globally. that's 39 years of oil remaining if we assume no growth in usage or new reserve discoveries.

next...

each barrel of oil produces a variety of products. see the second link below. approximately 7.25 gallons per barrel goes into non fuel products. most of our plastics (polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, etc) are from that 7.25 gallons / barrel.

now let's just say here that we recycle that plastic with 100% efficiency and that we can use that last 7.25 gallons per barrel as fuel... each barrel is 42 gallons so our consumption would drop by 7.25/42 = 17.2%... ie our daily consumption would be 70.3x10^6 barrels per day.

meaning we have about1.2x10^12 barrels x (1 day / 70.3x10^6 barrels) = 17,100 days of oil in known reserves globally. that's 46 years of oil remaining if we assume no growth in usage or new reserve discoveries

so we gain about another 7 years of oil...

but of course that assumes no growth and it assumes 100% recovery via recycling. that isn't feasible because even if we all chipped in and recycled, the material doesn't last forever. the properties of the plastics degrade upon recycling.

so we gain less than 7 years....

*************

now.. some sources claim that we have 2 to 3 times that much oil in reserves yet to be discovered. meaning maybe we have 80 to 120 years of oil remaining on our planet. Depends on who you talk to.
