I heard on the Nightly Business Report that, if the current demand increases steadily at 5% annually, the current oil supply will last only about 30 more years. That is a scary thought. Is that why George Bush passed a law that mandates all new cars must have the capacity of running at least 30 miles per gallon by the year 2010? How bad is the global oil shortage right now?How many more years can our current oil supply last?
The truth is that we have enough oil if we continue at current rates for around 300 years if we use bitumen deposit and oil sands. The problem is the cost and time of developing these sources of oil. The ultimate solution should be to eliminate oil, but it will last for quite some time, just not cheap. How many more years can our current oil supply last?
After the current supply runs out we will need to find and pump more. There are still huge deposits of oil in the world that have not been drilled for yet. At some point people will tell the environmental wackos to shut up and we will drill for more oil. By the time all the oil is actually gone, new technologies will take over. We have hundreds of years of oil left.
First people burned wood for energy. Then coal was discovered. Then oil was discovered. Then nuclear power was discovered. There is no problem. You are just hearing lots of propaganda from the mass media.
You really shouldn't believe most of what the gov't and media are feeding you. The gov't right now knows that our oil supply isn't anywhere near what they say it is. All this hooplah with it being really low at dangerous levels is a scare tactic for Americans to try and preserve as much as they can. It's Bush's way to try and make back what he spent during his 2 terms as president. Did you know that when Bush became president, the country was in a surplus? Meaning we didn't owe anyone money. We had plenty of money. Other countries owed us. When he stepped into office, he spent all of our surplus on war. And now, just before he leaves office he wants to make a run at trying to make back some of what he lost and spent when he first became president. So that our history books show that at least he tried. Our global shortage is actually at an ok level. They find more and more places to find oil everyday. They just don't want us to know because they don't want other countries to know. Because when in fact the world does end up in a shortage, America will have secret stashes of oil that it can sell to the highest bidder. That's just how it is.
I DON'T KNOW THE PROBLEM LOOKS SERIOUS EVERYWHERE ON THIS PLANET
